Restless Saturday evenings

This is how I spend my Saturday evenings: I read random blogs by clicking "next blog." It's fascinating how we can connect with people from many walks of life.

Finally at Peace

I don't know why I've been putting off writing this blog for so long. Writing has been a therapeautic escape for me but for some reason I couldn't write. But this morning, I had the knawing urge to write.

I'm currently sitting in a Starbucks on Keesler Air Force base deep in thought and reflecting on the past year. For the first time in months I can truly say I'm happy and at peace.

For many of you who know, this year has been totally transformative. I went from being unemployed, frustrated, stuck in a dead-end job to making the best decision in my life by joining the United States Air Force. This decision was not easy; it took alot of patience, prayer and uneasiness to finally take the leap. After eight-weeks of military training, away from my loved ones and friends I realized I need to appreciate the many blessings I already have in my life.

I give most of this credit to my loving boyfriend who inspired me to join the service. I've seen through him that with hardwork, perserverance and motivation anything is possible.

I feel like my life is starting to begin and I'm excited for a promising future in the Air Force.

Basic training!!!

Hey guys,

I'm officially enlisted in the greatest Air Force in the world (straight from the brochure). I'm really excited for this new journey. Pumping iron and running to prepare myself physically for 8-1/2 weeks of intense training. More to come.....

Ask an Arab

Why I heart NPR: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=123806794. Yay, to video. Some of these people ask pretty dumb, silly questions.

Why not ask an African??? I would have alot to say.
